PLP To Issue Response To Premier’s Address
The Progressive Labour Party will be issuing its official response to Premier Cannonier’s address to the nation on Monday [July 22].
The leader of the PLP, Marc Bean will present his response on the major local television stations starting at 7.30pm.
A PLP spokesperson said, “Bermuda needs an honest conversation on how we can get our people back to work, expand entrepreneurial opportunities and fairly share the necessary sacrifices across all segments of our community.
“By now it is obvious that the OBA is out of their depth and struggling to come up with solutions that can benefit the average Bermudian.”
“In this address, Mr. Bean will lay out proposals for helping Bermudians get back to work as well as present a true picture of our economy.
“We hope that you will join us as we seek to provide much needed solutions and hope to all Bermudians,” the spokesperson added.
“Under broadcast regulations, the Opposition is allocated half the time used by the Premier. As such, a great deal of information will be conveyed in a short amount of time.”

I look forward to MP Bean’s comments since they are normally quite logical and well thought out.
Given that ‘a great deal of information will be conveyed in a short amount of time’, I hope he sticks to objective commentary and keeps any OBA criticism to a minimum. It is true that many voters know that “By now it is obvious that the OBA is out of their depth and struggling to come up with solutions that can benefit the average Bermudian.”
The evasiveness of MP Pettingill on Friday about his basis for spending $700k of taxpayer money raises significant questions.
Logical and wll thought out?
Like converting to the gold standard and using drones to patrol our waters from foreign fishermen?
Or is the seeking of equal rights for others that diifer from him also logical and well-thought out?
And if the OBA is out of its depth, then what the hell are the PLP? You do realize our problems haven’t come about in the last 7 months right?

I read just a few lines and then stopped after coming upon, “We need an honest conversation…” Yeah right Marc Bean I agree but, why now and not having it prior i.e. like for the past 14 years?
Although many like to avoid the obvious, MP Bean is neither former Premier Cox or former Premier Brown. He has a unique style and presence that is very effective with many voters ‘… he who has ears to hear, let him listen…”
He is Brown’s protege.
If he his honest about wanting to be honest then he needs to come clean about the Spice Valley and Spring Benny property decisions that he undertook while the Minister of the Environment.
Until then his is honetly being dishonest.
This should be really entertaining. I hope everyone tunes in so that they can hear what should be an amazing presentation on how our previous Govt. has come up with a plan to undo all the things that they did to destroy our economy….
