Video: Men’s Football Bermuda vs Greenland
The Bermuda men’s football team defeated Greenland on Thursday evening [July 18] to claim a gold medal in the NatWest Island Games.
The starting lineup was Drewonde Bascome, Tyrell Burgess, Domico Coddington, Fredrick Hall, Oliver Jalen Harvey, Roger Lee, Zeko Lewis, Damon Ming, John Nusum, Antwan Russell and Dominique Williams.
The first half ended with a score of 0-0. The second half continued with neither team finding the back of the net, and just when it looked like the men’s game might be heading into overtime, the referee awarded a penalty.
Drewonde Bascome converted the penalty in the 88th minute, and the clock soon ran out, with the Bermuda men walking away with a 1-0 victory, and the gold medal.
