August 23, 2013

The Bermuda Football Association announced that Vinzie Zuill, Naquita Robinson and Kieshon Smith have travelled to Cayman Islands to attend the inaugural CONCACAF “D” License Course from August 22nd – 25th.

CONCACAF has recently launched its first ever CONCACAF Licensing Program through its Coaching Education initiative. This projects initial design afforded the BFA the opportunity to send three coaches to the Course.

According to CONCACAF, their goal is to award one hundred and twenty-three CONCACAF D-Licenses spanning across the 41 Member Associations. There are four main sites that this inaugural license course will be conducted which are Mexico City, Cayman Islands, Aruba and Grenada. The very first course was held in Mexico City from August 9th – 12th. In due time, Member Associations will be able to request hosting their own D License Course which would benefit many more of our coaches right here in Bermuda.

Delegates from other countries attending the Cayman Island site along with Bermuda’s delegates are host Cayman Islands, Bahamas, Haiti, US Virgin islands, British Virgin Islands, Anguilla, Canada, USA and Jamaica.

“The BFA is very grateful that CONCACAF is financing the entire cost for our delegates to attend the course inclusive of airfares, accommodations, meals and local transportation,” said a spokesperson.

“While in the Cayman Islands our delegates will have the opportunity to attend the Semi Finals and Final of the CONCACAF U-15 Championships featuring Bermuda’s U-15 National Team as the compete in the Semi-Final on Friday [Aug 23] vs Guatemala.

“In closing, we know that Vinzie, Naquita and Kieshon are committed to football and will continue to prove themselves as valuable assets in the future development process of our programs, in particular, at the youth and grassroots level.”
