Police Cycling Team Continue In Northern Ireland

bike130803Members of the Bermuda Police Cycling team continued competed in the 2013 World Police & Fire Games in Northern Ireland.

The cyclists competed in the Men’s Road Race that took place in Carrickfergus, approximately 12 miles from Belfast.

Shannon Lawrence finished 5th in the Men’s 35 – 39 Age Group Division in a time of 1:28.46, Darren Glasford finished 11th in the Men’s 40 – 44 Age Group Division clocking a time of 1:30.03, Clifford Roberts finished 20th with a time of 1:51.51 and Terry Thomas finished 25th clocking 2:12.56. Dennis Joell clocked a time of 1:43.51 in the 30 – 34 Age Group finishing 14th.

The Games are being hosted in Belfast from 1 – 10 August 2013, with an estimated 7,000 competitors from over 60 countries competing in around 56 sports.
