23-Year-Old Pleads Guilty To Sexual Assault

September 6, 2013

In Magistrates Court yesterday [Sept 5], before Acting-Magistrate Shade Subair, Timothy Hogue, 23, pleaded guilty to an unlawful sexual assault on a woman who was both hearing and speech impaired.

The offence occurred on the night of 3rd October 2012, after Hogue had recently arrived from the USA.

Crown Counsel Cindy Clarke told the Acting Magistrate that the victim and Hogue had been left together in a living room where both were watching TV.

When a witness returned to help put the victim to bed, he found the woman partially undressed with Hogue naked and trying to move between the woman’s legs. Ms Clarke said that the witness shouted at Hogue and eventually got him to desist.

Duty Counsel, lawyer Peter Farge told the Acting Magistrate that Hogue appeared to have mental issues and that he found it difficult to take instructions from Hogue.

Acting Magistrate Subair ordered a Social Inquiry Report and a Psychiatric report and set sentencing for 31st October 2013. The Acting Magistrate ordered that Hogue must remain on remand until sentencing.

name and age appear to be the same

    • Tommy Chong says:

If this is him it proves that customs & immigration here need to have their vetting procedures updated. We have too many local perves as is & we don’t need to add more from overseas to that. This is not the first time this year that a visitor as been charged with a sexual crime.

    • Next says:

And don’t you worry he’ll be set free in about 2 years to rape again. Courts don’t take it seriously until these sickos rape someone then murder them out of fear of being caught again.

    wow

  2. Double Standards says:

Sexually assaulting a handicapped person is absolutely sickening…

And if it is the same individual in the article referenced above, then it proves that such perverts can never change…

I thought we had a “stop list” of our own,no bermudian that has been convicted, especially for possession of herb, could dream of entering the US due to strict enforcement(unlike the lax terror watch list).I can only hope this johncrow is severely punished but in light of previous miscarriages of justice i am doubtful.

I’m glad this scum has had his name published! Question, is this normal because I can’t recall many other perverted scums names being published? Good job Bernews!

    • Grizz says:

A foreigner gets his name published but if he was local we wouldn’t have a clue who it was

  5. Just One says:

Stiffer penalties needed for these guys. I know some of them are victims too, and that it’s a vicious cycle, but that cycle needs to be broken. Lock them up for life!!! And for Goodness sake, please let the rest of us know what they look like! Why are we protecting these convicted offenders, so they can easily reoffend????

  6. It seems that the victim in the other case didn’t get the satisfaction of seeing justice served! Two years and now offending in Bermuda? Cut it the **** off!

  7. cousin says:

Everybody here is assuming the guy is not Bermudian because of his last name. Get it together, last names mean nothing anymore, have you ever heard of a Bermudian woman getting married to a citizen of another country. SMH I say no more, you can’t put a Bermudian on the stop list to enter their own country. Put your thinking caps on.

  8. Grizz says:

@cousin Can u read the article again pls. Second paragraph. The offence happened after he recently arrived from the USA. If he was Bermudian there would be no need to mention that.

  9. Judge & Jury says:

Its him and he is Bermudian.
