Upcoming Xbox One Launch Will Miss Bermuda

September 9, 2013

Impatiently waiting to get your hands on Microsoft’s next generation console, the Xbox One? The company has announced that it will launch the device in major markets on November 22, 2013, with Bermuda not counted among them.

The Xbox One is Microsoft’s answer to Nintendo’s Wii U and Sony’s upcoming PlayStation 4, with all three consoles replacing their predecessors in the hunt for gaming supremacy.

Promising to be much more than just a gaming system, however, the Xbox One features deep multimedia capabilities as it aims to be a full-fledged living room media centre. The console features the ability to stream television shows, act as a personal video recorder, organize, store and play music, along with featuring more than 25 games at launch, with hundreds more sure to follow over the next 18 months.

Bermudians looking to get in on the action early will need to pre-order from an online retailer; otherwise, the console won’t make it to the island until probably early 2014. Those who act especially early will be able to purchase a so-called Day One Edition of the Xbox One, which includes a commemorative controller, an Xbox branded chat headset, and a code to unlock an exclusive achievement.
