“Efforts Are Ongoing” To Resolve Passport Issue

October 24, 2013

The Ministry of Home Affairs said that as of today [Oct 24] “efforts are ongoing to resolve the technical issues affecting the Department of Immigration’s passport processing.”

“It should be noted that the new replacement printer has been installed and technicians are working to ensure that it is fully operational,” a Ministry spokesperson said.

“Once the printer is online passports needed for immediate travel will be processed as a matter of a priority. Persons who have submitted applications in accordance with the standard submission deadlines and who require passports for immediate travel should contact the Department at least 48 hours prior to travel date.

“Once again, we want to take this opportunity to thank the public for their continued cooperation and patience as we work to rectify this matter.”
