Man Charged In $112,000 – $300,000 Drug Case

A 39 year old man appeared in Magistrates Court today [Oct 25] charged in connection with a drug case which was said to be valued up to $300,000. Anthony Richards faced multiple charges which are all indictable so he did not have to enter a plea.

The charges were that in November 2011, he allegedly possessed cocaine, cannabis and cannabis resin intended for supply; and a scale, a grinder, and other equipment intended for use with illegal drugs.

Crown Prosecutor Garrett Byrne told Senior Magistrate Archie Warner that the drugs alleged to be involved were worth between $112,000 and $300,000.

Mr Richards was granted bail of $25,000 and required to provide a surety. He must reappear in November for Mention.
