The OBA Government promise us and stated before the election that they had a plan for all this madness once elected!
Before anyone replies with any smart remarks………
Maybe Senator Jeff Baron would like to inform us more.

The PLP pretty much created this environment, yet you flame OBA for not ‘fixing’ it.
A bunch of CRAP. This is a people issue,
Things will get much worse before they get better.
Do any of you expect Rome to be built in a day? If not then give it a chance, remember it is NOT the O.B.A. out there shooting at one another, it’s people that are known by others in the area but aren’t speaking out due to the fact they too fear for their life or their family members lives. “Same sh****-different-day”
Warning shots folks!
No political party will solve this! Why are we wasting money on more cameras whilst people go hungry? A hungry man is an angry man!!
Death is near folks!
Social ills that date way back created this…us and them society! Not PLP…they just had no solution to it, and appears neither does OBA so why make promises you have 1 no control over and 2 no damn connection with the gang members/their families. Real talk!
The PLP (or certain members, I should say) ****** Bermuda and its people. The strain that people are feeling, and will feel much more severely in the coming years, can be attributed to that. Of course there will always be criminals, but like the above commenter says, “a hungry man is an angry man”… Now ask yourself why that man is hungry. Review the last several years of news for an OBVIOUS answer.
I couldn’t agree more you are absolutely correct in my opinion
The gun violence isn’t gonna end smh. The government can do everything in their power to try and stop it, but these little fools are finished!!
Why is it that everytime something like this happens the first thing people write about is the OBA this and the PLP that. OMG! give it a Damn break.
I agree!! There are people out there protecting these fools and until they stop we the general public, Government,BPS etc., have our hands tied!!
When you hear of gun shots like that, it’s most likely practice shots.
Why do some people make every issue political?
Never fails…..ALL THE TIME…..If it rains its PLP’s fault….Let it thunder than it’s OBA’s fault….This gun violence that plagus this island has NOTHING to do with whichever party is in power…It is a result of CHOICES and people CHOOSING to do the wrong thing……
So True.
@tricks are for kids: Exactly my point
The oba made it political when they told everyone they could fix this gun alley we live in.
When?
When?
It was part of their election platform –

Q
I just read it but couldn’t find anything that said that. I saw a bunch of strategies they plan to implement to reduce crime. Could you point it out to us or even copy and paste the statement that says that?
Wow. So… Wow. Addressing one of the major problems facing the island… In their platform… And you’re saying that… Wow. I’m speechless. Seriously. I have absolutely no idea what to say right now. I’m amazed.
It was also part of the PLP’s platform (generalization), so what. Whats the f***** point?! Nothing won’t get done regardless who’s in power.
Wow thanks.
Just curious… What SHOULD they have said about it, in your opinion?
Yes thanks…..for defeating your own misinformation.
They made the promise repeatedly. You can do the research to contradict people’s claims when it suits you, so do it now.
I tried, can’t seem to find where they said that….Can you?
Repeatedly… when?
(And you’re misrepresenting the truth with your claim here… I simply asked a question.
I don’t recall them saying that, so I asked when they did.
The defensiveness speaks volumes.)
So if the weather man says it’s gonna rain and it doesn’t we gonna blame the weather man? What nonsense.
How can people blame the government? There’s already guns in Bermuda so gang members will use them. The OBA can’t just go up to ‘gang members’ and be like “hey, now stop that. That’s naughty” can they? Because what ‘gang member’(pft) will listen to a politician or police officer? They listen to higher ranking members and until they come forward and say to stop this, I’m sorry Bermuda but they are not going to stop. Its now just dumb retaliations. Were all brothers and sisters from other mothers and misters so why can’t we be one big happy family? I love Bermuda more than anything but this ‘gang’ crime is stupid and pointless.
TO ALL ‘GANG MEMBERS’, Sort your life out and realize how great you all have it here in Bermuda. You are very blessed. There’s only 65,000 of us out of 7 billion people in this world so why kill each other off? We should all be together living in UNITY.
JAH Bless.
My answer:
The loop holes within government (well paid workers) that allow these fools to posses them.
I wouldn’t agree to blame a particular party (minus their silly promises) but rather the government workers involved in letting / having a blind eye when parts and ammo come in.
I can concur that they listen to the “higher ups” that they assoiciate with…….I had an issue with an individual who is “alleged” to have affiliations and I spoke to the “alleged” Leader whom I know very well and he was not impressed…told me that he would handle it and the next thing Iknew the individual with whom I had the issue came and apologised……so they DO listen but maybe just not to whom we wold like them to……Sad though…..
If everyone woke up tomorrow with 1 million dollars in their pockets. Crime will jump 100% because Peter will do everything to rob Paul and Paul will do all it takes to defend his. The Culture of GREED is here to stay. It started in the Garden of Eden.
Us and them society, for real? All I see is Us v Us, we make excuses about social ills, the real reason all this started was/is pure greed…. Now it has gone beyond that to a Tit for Tat level…. Greed pure greed, getting mine on my corner was not enough I wanted yours also and whatever you disposed your income on, jewellery, bikes ect.
These thing takes time to fix, you bermudians need to realize that things do not happen over time. PLP created many issues and now everyon else is suffering from all the madness that has happened! We as a country need to come together and FIX OUR own problems and not get outside sources to fix our INTERNAL problems! that is the main issue we have as a country! STOP bringing in people to fix our problems!
Relax people, Michael Weeks has made a call for the gang bangers to put down their guns. Everything will be fine now.
