Photos: Rusty Object Washes Up At Horseshoe

[Updated] A rusty object washed up at the eastern end of Horseshoe Bay today [Oct 25], and as of this writing workers are preparing to remove the item, which is a few feet long. A Bermuda Maritime Operations Centre spokesperson said it was reported drifting off South Shore yesterday, and they are working to remove it from the beach and ascertain the contents.

Update 4.57pm: The Department of Conservation Services said they have “examined the object and observed it has no obvious residue or leakage that would cause concern.”

      If so, it must have been a PLP mooring. The boat has drifted away and the mooring is all rusted out and washed up.
