BEDC To Host Second Vendor Seminar In Series

The BEDC will be hosting a Vendor Seminar on Tuesday [Nov 5] entitled Merchandising for Success. The seminar is the second of a three part series which focuses on Tips and Techniques to increase sales and reduce cost.

According to event organizer Ray Lambert: “This is a great opportunity for current vendors and those who want to learn more about vending. We encourage the community to come out and hear from an excellent panel that has been assembled.”

Tuesday’s seminar is entitled “Merchandising for Success” and includes presentations and demonstrations by: Allison Smith of Confections, Wendy Avery of Dockyard Glassworks, Brian Bennett of Bermuda Flag & Sign Co. and Ashley Steven of Ashley’s Lemonade, to name just a few.

Mr. Lambert who is the St. George’s Economic Development Officer added that “Our panel is comprised of vendors, organizers and business owners who have a wide range of experiences and are willing to share with our audience to help improve Vendors across the island. We are excited to have them aboard.”

Merchandising is an integral part of being successful as a vendor. In addition to helpful tips, presenters will also set up displays to provide attendees with real demonstrations of best practices when organizing displays.

The “Merchandising for Success” workshop is part of a series and the 3rd and last workshop in the series is entitled Bermuda’s Vendor Markets – Identifying your niche, and will take place on November 19th. Attendance at all 3 workshops will gain participants a Certificate of Completion.

All seminars will be held at the Bermuda Industrial Union, 49 Union Street, Hamilton from 5.30pm to 8.00pm. To register in advance, email info@bedc.bm. Registration is $15 for BEDC Members and $20 for all others. Those registering for both seminars, receive a discount of $10. Light refreshments will be served from 5.30 to 6pm. Walk-ins are welcome.
