Capital G’s Holiday Giving Back Programme
Capital G have launched its seventh annual ‘Holiday Giving Back’ fundraising programme. Members of the community are invited to donate a Dollar amount of their choosing to the campaign, which this year will once again benefit the Meals on Wheels charity.
“With a mission to allow Capital G employees, customers and the entire community to collaboratively provide assistance to local charitable efforts during the season of giving, the ‘Holiday Giving Back’ Programme was implemented seven years ago and has now launched for 2013,”said Ian Truran, President and CEO, Capital G Bank Limited.
“We are committed to helping programmes like Meals on Wheels during the continuing economic hardships that Bermuda is facing, and believe that our efforts will help provide important resources to an organization that is committed to the needs of the community.”
Capital G’s ‘Holiday Giving Back’ programme donated more than $10,000 last year. Despite tough times, Capital G hopes to again encourage the community’s generosity in the season of giving to show their support for those who – for reasons of age, disability or health – depend on Meals on Wheels to deliver a nourishing cooked meal to their home.
“Capital G understands the importance of being an active partner in our community, even providing charitable assistance beyond donations. In fact, Capital G employees will volunteer at Meals on Wheels during the week of Thanksgiving to assist with meal preparation and delivery,” Mr. Truran said.

Capital G employees will also partner with Meals on Wheels to collect donations during the Gibbons Company Charity Shopping Day on Friday, 6 December. Customers who donate at least $5 will receive 20% off regularly priced merchandise.
In addition, every Friday in December, patrons of Burrows Lightbourn can also contribute to the ‘Holiday Giving Back’ fund by donating a minimum of $5 for a 10% discount on alcohol purchases from 5pm – 9pm. Once the donation has been made, the discount will apply on purchases made at all Burrows Lightbourn stores island-wide – wholesale purchases are excluded.
Capital G will match all contributions up to a capped amount and all funds will be donated directly to Meals on Wheels. Donations may be made to Meals On Wheels via the Capital G Bank ‘Giving Back’ account via the following ways:

Ask the teller to make a donation to Meals On Wheels into the ‘Holiday Give Back’ account.

Burrows Lightbourn Discount Shopping Fridays in December:
- At the Front Street Store December 6, 13, 20 and 27 donate a minimum of $5 for a 10% discount on alcohol purchases from 5 to 9pm at all Burrows Lightbourn stores [wholesale purchases excluded].
