XL Group Appoints Raymond Chiusano
Bermuda-based XL Group announced that Raymond Chiusano has been appointed Senior Vice President, Chief Property Underwriter in XL’s Bermuda Insurance operations.
Mr. Chiusano, who will report to President of XL Insurance [Bermuda] Ltd Patrick Tannock, is responsible for leading XL Group’s new Property dual platform access strategy in Bermuda.
The recently-implemented strategy allows XL Group to increase clarity for brokers regarding appropriate access points and improves alignment between XL Group’s US, Canada and Bermuda, also known as North America, Property operations. Under the strategy, accounts meeting certain criteria, quota-share and excess-only capacity with minimum attachments of $100 million will be serviced from Bermuda. The US and Canada Property teams will provide primary coverage below the Bermuda attachment point for accounts that meet the same criteria.
Prior to his appointment, Mr. Chiusano was based in New York as Vice President, Senior Property Underwriter in XL Group’s North America Property Eastern Zone where he was responsible for managing general property large accounts, many of which were Global Fortune 1000 clients, representing multiple industries. He was also responsible for growth and production of new business, including marketing to multiple brokers throughout the Northeast US.
Before joining XL in 2007, Mr. Chiusano worked as an Account Manager/Underwriter at FM Global in Parsippany, New Jersey. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey.
