SMH! I swear people don’t learn that cannabis is ILLEGAL! Why is it so hard for people to remember that!?

    • Its a fact says:

Yeah, lets go against gods word and legalize homosexuality BUT lets ban a plant that was put on gods green earth by the man himself. Homosexuality has a bigger negative impact on society than marijuana!!! I don’t have a problem with gay people BUT I have a problem with the act! We were put on this earth, in the fathers own words,to produce life! Every day we are becoming more and more aware about life being destroyed through global warming, war etc BUT the biggest destroyer of life is homosexuality! It certainly doesn’t produce life and never will!!!

      • Rich Ellis says:

If god created plants, he also created gay people . and as for your views on reproduction, he probably created straight people who do not wish to have children or who are unable to . quote ” I don’t have a problem with gay people” …you clearly do. Get real . All love is equal.

    • Sara says:

Um they DO realize it silly, its why they are importing it. It’s know as the black market and people are willing to take the risk for the chance at that large payoff. Don’t you think they know the risks already? You are stating the obvious. .

Sad, People have become So desperate for Money !

  3. say it like it is. says:

Donlt blame her, too expensive here.

  4. sage says:

Putting over inflated maximum retail prices in the media only encourages more people to run these kind of risks. Keep herb illegal and the perpetual cat and mouse games will go on forever, oh yeah thats the idea.

    • YADON says:

      Agree. 1 pound = 16 oz , 1 oz = $ 600 so 1 pound = $ 9,600 not 60,000

      • For Real says:

I agree it is not woth $60,000 lol. Its a max of $10,000 for exotic

      • sage says:

The truth’s just not sensational enough I guess. These tricks are also employed in court to increase the perceived gravity of an “offence”, resulting in longer sentences at $80,000 per annum, real value for money.

Oh no, the Brits are coming, the Brits are coming….

  6. mixitup says:

Deport Her! I’m surprised no one else has suggested this yet… Oh wait….

    • Derpington says:

Yeah but keep all the jamaicans that are bringing in dirty brown brick weed that doesnt smell.

    • Sandy Bottom says:

I’m surprised we haven’t heard all the “de herb is natural, no one should get arrested for having natural plant on them”….. Oh wait….

  7. Derpington says:

    Jesus h. Christ…

How do the police get $60,000?

No one is gonna be spending $50 for 0.5 grams…

At the most, if that was sold at $50 per gram it would be $30,000.

This has to stop. Legalize this p***y ‘drug’. We have more important things to worry about. Like alcohol, crack, and heroin.

As a person who does not smoke, I however do question its illegality… Its rather stupid how so much money and time and taxpayer money is spent on stopping weed…

  8. Rock Watcher says:

Quite – if she can’t afford to live here then she needs to go back to the UK!
She can go live with all the other Bermudians who cannot afford to live here to ‘Little Bermuda’ – the name given to an area in Birmingham where they all are.
They can claim housing and benefits and don’t need to work!! Get you British passports and you can join them!

  9. George says:

It’s amazing to me that in most articles I read no matter what the subject..i”t’s send them back where they came from..everyone needs to understand it’s not us against them. We are here to support our families just like everyone from here is. If we the people of Bermuda ( and yes I’m not Bermudian but my life is here and support the economy ) put in as much effort loving each than the infighting people will flock here. People are smart and want to find happiness and will pay for it even if it temporary. We are no more special then the people we are asking to spend their money to support our families. The days of it’s about protecting our own are dead. I’m so tired of the attitude of let me take your money and please be on your way. 90 percent of the people (Bermudian ) I’ve met are the most amazing people I’ve ever had the privilege to have in my life. It such a shame that the 10 percent are reflective of the experience. It’s a digital world and people that spend money read how we treat each other and what we think of each other. How could they expect we would treat their family any differently?

    • Mazumbo says:

In a way I agree with you George but the negativity you hear is not isolated only in Bermuda ,any where in the world you go the natives or local people have the same sentiments as a matter of fact in some places they sabotage or do worse.
Most Bermudians look out for the best interest for ourselves knowing how some foreigners get more respect and better treatment then us and we all know that most people who come here is just for the money which I can understand but if the money dry’s up how many will stay here or just up and go and find the next cash cow like migrating herds looking for greener pastures!!!!!!!!!!!

    ridiculous!

    • Rich says:

Is it really ridiculous? I find it amazing that the arrest of an alleged ‘small time’ drug smuggler could be the catalyst of so much anger. Amazing because we pay little to no attention to the real Kingpins behind the drug trade. We ridicule the pushers of small quantities of grass and yet we grovel at the feet of corporate heads that work for companies that have their history steeped in the trade of opium and other illegal drugs. We cheer loudly when another young man or woman is placed on the ” Stop List’ and simultaneoulsy loose our voices when banks are slapped with proportionately small fines for laundering money.I seriously just don’t get Us!!
