Bradford: “Degree Of Negativity” With Nahki Gone

January 14, 2014

Bradford City Manager Phil Parkinson admits that several injuries and the departure of Bermudian footballer Nahki Wells has led to “a degree of negativity” at Bradford.

Bradford  – which drew 1-1 with Bristol City on Saturday — was without five players, with two more being forced out of the game. Wells was replaced in the game by Oliver McBurnie, a 17 year old footballer who many hope will have a bright future ahead of him.

Speaking to SkySports, Parkinson said, “With Nahki going, there was always going to be a degree of negativity around the ground because of the popularity of the player – you can’t hide away from that.

“I spoke to the players about this and told them what could be expected in and around the ground. In fairness though, I felt our supporters were great and they really got behind the team.”

It’s doubtful there is much negativity within the Huddersfield Town team at this time, with Nahki Wells making himself right at home, coming on in the second half of Saturday’s game against Millwall and scoring a last minute goal to earn his team the 1-0 win.

The day prior to his debut, the 23 year old Bermudian signed with Huddersfield Town for a record breaking transfer fee that exceeded £1. 2 milion [$2 million].

Reports suggest Wells may be making his first ever start in the Championship League this coming Saturday, with Huddersfield Town set to take on Queen’s Park Rangers.

Maybe that’s why you seemed a bit b****y about his “less than stellar performance” with his up and coming transfer…you mad? Get ‘em Nahki!

That is incorrect. Bradford City had to sell Nahki, they amount of money they got far outweighs the “degree of negativity” the club is experiencing right now. He is a good baller and is destined for the premier league one day, this is but a stepping stone mate!
