James, Cipres Finish Fifth In Championships
Bermudian Vanessa James and her partner Morgan Cipres — representing France — finished fifth in pairs skating at the European Figure Skating Championships in Budapest this past weekend, with Russia’s Tatiana Volosozhar and Maxim Trankov retaining their championship title when the event wrapped up on January 19.
The European Figure Skating Championships was the last event that James and Cipres will participate in before traveling to Sochi for the 2014 Winter Olympic Games, set to take place from February 6 through February 23.
