PLP Congratulate MP Dennis Lister On 25 Years

LISTER, DENNISThe Progressive Labour Party has congratulated their Member of Parliament for Constituency 35, Sandys North Central, Mr. Dennis Lister on his achievement of 25 years in the House of Assembly.

“MP Lister has always been there to provide counsel and advice as one of the elders of the Progressive Labour Party”, said PLP Leader Marc Bean.

“Over the past year I have been able to call on him to assist in many ways and he has always been willing and able to produce. He has served his constituents well and that has been rewarded by his success at the last six general elections.”

A PLP spokesperson said, “Mr. Lister currently sits as the longest serving member of the House of Assembly. Mr. Lister was part of the “Class of ’89″ which featured such political giants as former Premiers Dame Jennifer Smith & Dr.David Saul, former Health Minister the late Nelson Bascome, former Tourism Minister Mr. David Allen, the late Mr. Julian Hall, and Mr. Stuart Hayward.

“Mr. Lister has served in Cabinet as the Minister of Youth, Sport & Recreation and also as Minister of Works & Engineering.

“We honor Mr. Dennis Lister on his achievement and his unwavering commitment to the people of Bermuda.”

    Congratulations to Mr. Lister. Politics is not easy.

    But remember that time when he spoke on the Southlands tunnel in a prepared video but earlier the same day Premier Brown completely contradicted him at a press conference? That was fun.

    very honest reasonable but under-utilized & unappreciated fellow. I’m not registered in his constituency – I didn’t have to grit my teeth whilst ticking the opponents box ;-)
