    • Smh says:

At the same time children need to listen to their parents more. Strict or not, they are just trying to keep you out of trouble. When you get my age you will appreciate it a bit more… speaking from a 22 year olds point of view.

  3. a fellow cba student says:

as I used to see him walking around school he never had an books or pens in his bag, he just sat around and did nothing, its so sad to see someone of his age get mixed up with the wrong crowd, he’s a really good kid outside of his thuggish wanna be exterior. just go home darius, this isn’t cool. you have so much potential, turn over a new leaf, it’s never too late.

Darius is a good kiid but he is not makin good choices right now. Ive seen him play football for dandytown and him and that team are really good but he is just messing up his opportunities. He is doin the wrong thing and people are looking for him because of the wrong things. All im got to say darius pick it up your alot better than this..

  5. JUNK YARD DOG says:

I wonder if this person was just trying to make a name for himself ?

  6. i say what ppl wont says:

Everyone is on the outside looking in….its alot deeper that it appears….he has so much potential to do better…but things in life happen….and when someone feels like love isnt shown…they
Act out…and most of the time they act out in the wrong ways….so now that he is home safe and well…maybe he and his family can work on having a better relationship with each other…so nothing like this has to occur again…coming from a family members point of view

  7. Prayerful says:

I am thankful that Darius went home. Now he needs to have some counseling. I hope that his parents or guardians see the need for this and get him into treatment ASAP/

Why are obviously at risk youth ignored? A few from my son’s days at CBA are in prison now and they were clearly having problems for most of their school life. Are teachers and principals too preoccupied with their class “pets” and putting all their focus on the “gifted and talented”? How was he wandering around without pens and books like “a fellow cba student” said above? Some young people who end up dead or in prison could just as easily been among the best and brightest if the school system hadn’t failed them. We should be willing to invest extra money, time and attention to assist children who so clearly need it .Spending $80,000+per year to imprison them after neglecting our collective responsibilities is totally preventable.

@i say what ppl wont. Well put.

Mothers/fathers – talk to your kids. This is particularly to the mothers and fathers that have “other” boyfriends/girlfriends. Unfortunately too many boy/girlfriends try to raise a kid that is not theirs (not saying its a bad thing if its done the right way) but kids will act out because to them – (you are not my mom/dad)or vice/versa from the adult – you are not my kid.

There are some deep rooted issues here and I think talking to the right persons can help. Some people also just need to swallow their pride and admit that “maybe I do need help”. Remember, these are YOUR kids.

Also – to the young people out there. If you think the above is happening in your family, talk to the adult involved, be it the mother or the father. Let them know you are unhappy about whatever you may be unhappy about. Remember, these are YOUR parents.

I appreciate all the comments above whether positive or negative and trust me…… Darius will be alright.

    This coming from his uncle.
