Series Of Burglaries in Warwick & Sandys Parish

A series of daytime burglaries occurred in Sandys and Warwick earlier this week, prompting the police to issue an advisory which follows in full below.

An apparent series of reported daytime burglaries occurred in the Overplus Lane, Sandys parish area as well as at Glenwood Park Crescent and South Road, Warwick on Monday, February 3rd and Tuesday, February 4th respectively. An attempted burglary was also reported in the Glenwood Park Lane, Warwick area Tuesday.

Inquiries into Monday’s three reported Overplus Lane Sandys parish burglaries as well as the one reported Glenwood Park Crescent Warwick burglary, one reported South Road Warwick burglary and one reported attempted burglary on Glenwood Park Lane in Warwick Tuesday are ongoing.

Residents are reminded to be vigilant for suspicious individuals in their neighbourhoods and to secure their homes by ensuring all windows and doors are locked before leaving their property unattended.

Air conditioning units should also be secured and it is recommended that all valuables are kept in a safe or safety deposit box if possible.

In addition, residents are strongly advised to take pictures of all their valuables and record serial numbers of all electronic goods. In the event that any personal property is stolen and later recovered, these items can be more easily identified.

Members of the public should report any suspicious activity seen in their neighbourhoods to the nearest police station or the main police telephone number 295-0011.
