BHB Staff To Host Fundraising Variety Show
A group of like-minded staff at the Bermuda Hospitals Board [BHB] has come together to organise a variety show featuring the talents of colleagues on Saturday 29 March at 7 p.m. at the Ruth Seaton James Auditorium.
“There are so many staff members who are talented entertainers,” said committee member Beverly Marshall. “I thought bringing these folk together would result in a wonderful evening that an entire family could enjoy.
“When I mentioned it to a few of my work colleagues, I discovered they shared my view. We decided it would be a perfect way to raise funds for the new Acute Care Wing and so we formed a committee and decided to make the show a reality.”
The event has 18 acts signed up so far with everything from singing, dancing and poetry to magic and the gombeys. Most of the performers will be staff members, although in many cases a staff member may be joined by others who don’t work for the organisation.
“In this way it’s an even bigger community effort,” said committee member and BHB VP Quality & Risk Management Preston Swan. “We believe in our hospital and its commitment to provide the highest quality compassionate care to each person in the community. We recognise firsthand how important the new wing is to delivery of this care and are proud to give our support in this way.”

A spokesperson said, “Additionally the committee will raffle off several great prizes but you have to purchase the raffles at the event and you must be on hand to redeem your prize if your number is called.
“Prizes include brunch for two, massage for two and various gift certificates from Island outlets and stores. Raffle tickets will be only $2 each! So come out for a night of fun, a chance to win great prizes all while supporting the building of the new Acute Care Wing.”
