High School Preliminary Track & Field Results

The National Sports Center was the scene of the Bermuda School Sports Federation’s Senior School Track & Field Preliminary Championships earlier this week, with athletes competing for a place in the finals.

Azaire Smith, representing the Berkeley Institute advanced to the Under 16 Girls 400 Meter Run crossing the line in a time of 1:00.39, her schoolmate Jahtia Smith finished second clocking 1:04.26 and Quinnae Outerbridge from Bermuda High was third clocking 1:01.08.

The Over 16 Girls 200 Meter Run top Qualifier was Taahira Butterfield from the CedarBridge Academy who crossed the line in a time of 25.30, Berkeley Institute student Tyra Stovell was second clocking 26.12 and Bermuda High student Keesha Miller was third clocking 26.66.

Liam Evans won the Over 16 Boys 800 Meter Run representing the Saltus Grammar with a time of 2:15.15, Jahmori Sutton was second clocking 2:17.12 and Makai Joell from Mount Saint Agnes was third clocking 2:16.80.

On his way to winning the Over 16 Boys Triple Jump Jah-nhai Perinchief from CedarBridge Academy reached the Qualifying Standard for the Carifta Games leaping 13.83m, Saltus Grammar student Ethan Philip missed out on a qualifying leap with a top leap of 13.69m, with the Standard being 13.70m. Taijhun Gibbons from Cedarbridge Academy finished third with a top leap of 13.07m.
