Photos & Videos: Butterfield & Vallis Trade Show

The Food Service Division of Butterfield & Vallis hosted a trade show today [Mar 12] at the Fairmont Hamilton Princess, showcasing a variety of foods, wine, equipment and more.

The event was opened by Mr. Bill Hanbury, CEO of the Bermuda Tourism Authority along with Karla Lacey-Minors, COO of the Bermuda Tourism Authority.

Mr. Hanbury said, “For the global tourism market, food and the food experience is the fundamental to successful destinations.

“The foodies have become a driving force in where people move and how people decide what destinations to visit. It is fundamental to the market, and fundamental the product we have a great food experience for our visitors.”

Also present at the event were the chefs and students from the Bermuda Hospitality Institute’s “Plates of Passion”, which pairs ten of Bermuda’s top chefs with Bermuda College culinary students.

The event – which had the theme “innovation”– included various vendors from overseas and Bermuda offering a wide variety of foods, including cakes, pastries, brownies, bagels, cheeses, fresh fruits and vegetables, meats, nuts, fresh bread, wine, and more.

The company began trading over 85 years ago as Butterfield & Company, and merged with J.S. Vallis in 1993 and began trading under the name Butterfield & Vallis.
