Last year this event raised over $250,000.00 and was named Bermuda’s Top Charity Event/Fundraiser in the Bermudian magazine’s 2013 Best of Bermuda Awards.

  1. Nicole says:

    Congratulations to you all!

Catlin, we appreciate your generosity immensely. A true example of a socially responsible corporate citizen. Keep up the good works.

  2. Plane to sea says:

I think corperate responsibility achievement is not a few dollars here and there …nor emplyees pushing a wheel barrow…….you must think were stupid…….we are like….55,000 people….we need ….a-f-f-o-r-d-a-b-l-e insurance!……This news is not pertinent to thr advrragr Bermudian….and it lends to how out of touch with reality all the interested parties are to us….honestly Bermuda….how many people feel their beong ignored?!!!!!!!

  3. Bermuda123 says:

The last comment is misinformed. Catlin does not and is not legally allowed to offer insurance in Bermuda. They do a great job on CSR which we should all appreciate

  4. Wannabe says:

    Plane to sea –

How disrespectful of you. $1,000,000 donation to the hospital (which you may benefit from one day) is not a “few dollars here and there”. Neither is the other quarter of $1,000,000 raised through the End-to-End. I guess you don’t know how to push a wheel barrow as Bermudians have every opportunity to engage in international business and it’s right on your door step. These businesses have been here a looooong time and they have helped Bermudians in many ways over the years and they continue to do so today.

If you feel you are being ignored, take a look at the payroll tax contributions made by foreign and local employees in the (re)insurance industry. They help to pay off the massive debt left behind but the folks that didn’t ignore you. They just dug a nice big hole that you cannot get out of without the help of the industry you are criticizing.

Maybe you can ask all the Bermudian children on scholarships paid for by international business if they feel ignored?

The landlords making a mint from expat rents – are they being ignored too?

Go ahead and bite the hand that feeds this island and ask if it’s pertinent or not.

Amazes me how out of touch some people are. It’s not the fault of the (re)insurance industry that we are in the mess. We are in this mess DESPITE them! If they were to go away, this island would be doomed. It’s in the number “plane and simple to sea” with your own eyes should you care to look.
