KPMG Business Intelligence Knowledge Session

April 4, 2014

KPMG in Bermuda will be hosting an information session on the topic of business intelligence at their Crown House offices on Thursday, April 10, 2014 to explain how progressive CFOs are building intelligent finance organisations.

Session attendees will gain insights into:

  • The benefits of an information-centric organisation
  • How finance functions can create more value for the business by using relevant and timely data to develop deep insights into what drives shareholder value.
  • The different-from-traditional skill sets that finance professionals must have to support higher value processes

Fred Oberholzer, Senior Manager, KPMG Advisory Ltd, with responsibility for the Bermuda firm’s IT Advisory practice said: “The session aims to facilitate local discussion around the importance of business intelligence to an organisation’s strategic goals, and the role of technology in facilitating sound analysis and ultimately creating an information-driven operating model.

“Secondly, to serve as a local forum to share and discuss the results of KPMG’s recent survey of senior finance executives dealing with these topics entitled, The Intelligent Finance Organisation.”

One key finding from the survey is the fact that CFOs and other key decision makers are eager to strengthen the strategy, planning, reporting and analytical capabilities of their organisation. Having spent much of the past decade ensuring compliance with corporate governance requirements and cost reduction initiatives, finance executives are ready to shift gears towards providing even more support within their organisation and becoming more involved as a business partner in helping grow the organisation.

Tom Kelly, Managing Director, KPMG in Bermuda said: “When used correctly, an organisation’s technology resources can provide a powerful tool for turning data into insight – and insight into opportunity. Attendees of Thursday’s session will have the opportunity to see a real-time demonstration of key performance indicators, visualised effectively through the use of actionable dashboards.”

There is no cost to attend this event, however space is limited. All guests who attend will qualify for one (1) CPE credit.

- Note: The date of the seminar was amended at 11.59am
