Video: Phase 2 Of Registered Email Service

April 7, 2014

[Updated with video] The Bermuda Post Office [BPO] has entered into Phase 2 of the RPost Registered Email service, Minister of National Security Michael Dunkley said today.

The Minister said, “In 2010 the BPO formed a partnership with RPost, the inventors of the patented Registered Email technology, to offer businesses and Government employees the opportunity to send Registered Email messages to track and prove official, time dependent, or confidential electronic correspondence.

“These Registered Email services provide legally valid, time stamped evidence of sending content, opening and delivery of electronic messages to anyone, securely.

“Now, the Bermuda Post Office, in partnership with the R-Post team, brings as Phase 2, the next generation of messaging security and electronic document tools, called RMail®.

“In brief, RMail is a unique, integrated platform of messaging security and e-document tools that have been granted more than 50 patents worldwide,” the Minister added.

“We invite the public to join a series of workshops, where RPost technology executives will train end users and IT professionals in how to use these secure messaging and electronic signature services to protect sensitive data and realize the administrative efficiencies that other users the world over are enjoying today.

“An R-Post senior technology executive is in Bermuda this week to present a series of workshops to educate users as to how, when, and why to use RMail.

“The BPO is the exclusive provider of these services on-island, and this modernization of the mailstream demonstrates a commitment to run operations more efficiently and use technology as a means to strengthen the mandate of the postal service in Bermuda.

“This initiative is one that should be explored by all businesses, government departments, and technology executives, as Bermuda Government users have relied on Registered Email services for five years, including users in the Ministry of Finance, Department of Social Insurance, Department of Telecommunications and Department of Civil Aviation.”

The Minister’s full statement follows below:

Good Morning,

I am pleased to announce that the Bermuda Post Office (BPO) has entered into Phase 2 of the RPost, Registered Email service.

In 2010 the BPO formed a partnership with RPost, the inventors of the patented Registered Email technology, to offer businesses and Government employees the opportunity to send Registered Email messages to track and prove official, time dependent, or confidential electronic correspondence. These Registered Email services provide legally valid, time stamped evidence of sending content, opening and delivery of electronic messages to anyone, securely.

The technology underlying these services has won the World Mail Award for best in security, and is used in many countries.

Now, the Bermuda Post Office, in partnership with the R-Post team, brings as Phase 2, the next generation of messaging security and electronic document tools, called RMail®. RMail is an expanded set of secure messaging and e-document services that provide individuals and organizations the ability to track, prove, e-sign, and encrypt important messages and documents. RMail:
• Plugs into one’s existing email system, such as Microsoft Outlook, Gmail, or iPad and may be embedded into leading business platforms such as Salesforce.com,
• Permits automated sending options, and
• Offers a secure email alternative for individual and small businesses.

In brief, RMail is a unique, integrated platform of messaging security and e-document tools that have been granted more than 50 patents worldwide.

We invite the public to join a series of workshops, where RPost technology executives will train end users and IT professionals in how to use these secure messaging and electronic signature services to protect sensitive data and realize the administrative efficiencies that other users the world over are enjoying today.

An R-Post senior technology executive is in Bermuda this week to present a series of workshops to educate users as to how, when, and why to use RMail. The BPO is the exclusive provider of these services on-island, and this modernization of the mailstream demonstrates a commitment to run operations more efficiently and use technology as a means to strengthen the mandate of the postal service in Bermuda.

This initiative is one that should be explored by all businesses, government departments, and technology executives, as Bermuda Government users have relied on Registered Email services for five years, including users in the Ministry of Finance, Department of Social Insurance, Department of Telecommunications and Department of Civil Aviation.

This technology will permit local citizens and businesses, as well as international organizations to do more business faster, at less cost, with legal enforceability and more security. Importantly, this initiative will also showcase to the international community that their operations in Bermuda are only a click away; and the Bermuda Government is serious about reducing administrative time and cost, and reducing the risk of information leaks. This Phase 2 RMail initiative will strengthen the image of Bermuda as being open for e-business.

Thank you.
