The YAO Cal Ripken League continued at the YAO Ball Park on Kindley Field this weekend [Apr 26], with the opening match of the day seeing the Orioles defeat the Phillies 16 – 5.

Caleb Ingham, newly installed in the leadoff spot, scored three runs for the Orioles. Liam McCue pitched three scoreless innings in relief, striking out 5 Phillies. For the Phillies, Jackson Burns made an inning ending run saving diving catch on a sharply hit ball up the middle and Cameron Morris speared a hot line drive at third.

The afternoon game saw the Yankees defeat the Cubs 7 – 3. Both teams struggled in the field, but featured strong pitching. Jack Martin earning the win, with 2 innings, he also struck out 6 and walked 3.

Nic Martin came in and pitched 4 strong innings, striking out 9 with no walks on 67 pitches. Sam Resnik started for the Cubs, striking out 7 over 3 innings, with no walks on 53 pitches. Alex Bordage came in, to strike out 4 and walking 2.
