April 25, 2014

Ongoing repaving work will necessitate the closure of several Hamilton streets this week, with motorists required to utilize different routes while the work is underway.

A spokesperson said, “The City of Hamilton wishes to advise motorists, businesses, and the general public that Reid Street and Albouy’s Point will be undergoing essential repaving works as of today.

“Albouy’s Point and Reid Street, between Burnaby Street and Queen Street, will be closed to all traffic as of today until 6.00pm on Friday, April 25 and from 6.00pm on Saturday, April 26 until Sunday, April 27 respectively to complete the work. The reopening time of Reid Street will be dependent on the completing the section of work.

“All vehicles parked on Reid Street must be removed before 6.00pm on Saturday or they will be towed at the owner’s expense. Access will be made available for emergency services vehicles.

“The City regrets any inconveniences this may cause. The appropriate barriers and signage will be in place. Motorists and pedestrians are advised to use caution in the area.”
