Tanker Crew Member Transferred After Injury

A crew member from the 900ft long crude oil tanker “Poetic” was transferred to Bermuda for medical attention after suffering a cut to his leg.

A Bermuda Maritime Operations Centre spokesperson said, “Bermuda Radio is contacted by “Poetic” an 80,000 tonne Crude Oil tanker which has a crew member requiring medical attention.

“The vessel, some 900ft long, has a draft of over 50ft and is directed to a rendezvous position well to the East of Bermuda where the transfer of its Chief officer, who was suffering with a cut to his leg, is carried out.

“The Poetic completed the transfer of its crew member at daylight on the 29th and continued on to Philadelphia.”
