May 13, 2014

The Bermuda National Rugby team went down 33 – 6 to USA South Rugby in their 2014 North Caribbean Championship opener in Atlanta.

Bermuda lost Neville Zuill 15 minutes into the match due to a dangerous tackle on him that left him with a concussion.

The USA South drew first blood with a penalty, but Bermuda fought back to take a 6 – 3 lead after Tommy Edwards kicked 2 penalties.

A missed tackle by Corey Boyce saw USA South go over in the corner and the try was converted as they made the half time score of 10 – 6 to USA South.

10 minutes into the second half, USA South made a 70 yard break to score their first try in the second half, which was converted. USA South followed up with 3 unanswered penalties to take the score to 26 – 6.

In the 38th minute Bermuda allowed USA South to much space once again and they ran in a 50 yard dash to get tackled on the 5 by Dan Cole but they manage to retain ball and go over for the second converted try of the half.
