City Of Hamilton To Unveil “Walkway Of Fame”
The City of Hamilton will be hosting an unveiling ceremony focused on the City Walkway of Fame on Thursday, May 15 at 4.00pm, followed by a reception to honour and celebrate the Walkway’s first inductees.
A spokesperson said, “The inductees to be honoured are Hazel Christopher, Edith and Matilda Crawford, Stan ‘Lord Necktie’ Seymour, Edwin Skinner, and Hilary Soares.
“The inductees each have a plaque and these plaques have been installed in various locations on the east and west sidewalks along Court Street.
“Stan Seymour [pictured above] is the only living inductee and the City of Hamilton is looking forward to welcoming him to City Hall along with the numerous family members and friends of the other inductees.
“Also invited are those members of the community who served on the Organizing Committee and the Selection Committee as certain criteria had to be met to be considered for a Walkway plaque.
“Story boards about the Walkway and each inductee will be unveiled in City Hall at the ceremony.”

Why not Scientist ?
Didn’t we do this with heroes day? Until we worked out we didn’t have any.
You’re an idiot.
Hey Rick: You’re an idiot, these people dedicated their lives to helping and education others. What exactly have you done for our community? except lie on the beach with your bikini top.
Johnny Barnes better be inducted! Even though he is on the outskirts of the city. He brings us joy going into town.
Anyone have info on these guys or where to find it
This is a great idea! What a great way to honour folks who have given so much to Bermuda AND educate us about them and our history!
@ Mike Hind, how will putting these faces of the sidewalk to be walked on educate us on them and our history?
My bad. When I read “plaque”, I assumed that there would be some information about them.
I guess there won’t be, given your question.
Why?…should be the walkway of shame….why not a large statue of a clamp…..Who wants to go to a place that clamps cars?…..they are depriving liberty there by unlawful in that the interpretation they utilise as reason has a secondary effect of which they are not lawfully permitted to do legally…two items really life and property “deprevation of liberty”…..”possession of personal property”…..you are unlawfully removing personal property…..I’ll have you arrested for attempting to do either to me.Is it by you’re order Mz. Beniveeds
They are private car parks, they have every right to enforce the rules if you park on their property. Why do you think the rules do not apply to you? Pay for parking like everyone else, or take a bike instead.
My dog is staying out of this one.
Um gonna go pee on a tree on Front Street.
Of all the things Bermuda needs right now I can’t believe we are wasting time and MONEY on this vanity project. IMHO, it’s a ploy to keep the CoH/PLP in the news. IF they really wanted to laude these walkway individuals, why didn’t they give away a scholarship – the cost of placques – to a needy child? Or, they could just fix the damn roads!
pirates ….clampin peples cahs like dey ownem….dey don’t ownem….boycott hamilton as their leadership is roughin up the people who visit…….we aww visitors!….not violators!….bunchah pirates…..dat’s whatchewaww!
Where is this walkway of shame going to be located, will I get clamped if I take a look at it.
Please no lying double talking can’t answer a question looking out for myself only speak to you around election time politician SMDH
Great! A walkway of fame for people most have never heard of to be spat on, have chewing gum walked into & have cigarette butts stomped into.
How could the money been better spent. Grand idea by the useless COH.
