Man Denies Charges Related To Fleeing Court

May 2, 2014

Appearing in Magistrates Court this morning [May 2], a 35 year old man denied charges relating to an alleged attempt to flee Court yesterday.

Lorin Baxter pleaded not guilty to four charges relating to the alleged attempt to run from Magistrates Court yesterday; then he elected to serve jail time in default of paying over $1,300 in outstanding fines.

Mr. Baxter pleaded not guilty to unlawfully assaulting another person; using offensive words in the Dame Lois Browne-Evans building, behaving in a threatening manner and violently resisting arrest.

All four charges stemmed from an alleged incident yesterday in which Mr. Baxter is alleged to have run from Court and sought to get past security guards and exit the building. Magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo set trial on these four matters for September 2014 and granted Baxter bail of $2,000.

The Magistrate then raised some $1,300 in old fines that had been outstanding since 2010, and Mr Baxter elected to serve prison time in default.

The courts need new security G.E.T security is a waist of time. Thats the second person thats ran from the court building.

    • Nothefacts says:

Don’t know what you are talking about, the person did not leave the court building, but ran into the court area. Get facts straight and buy a dictionary so that you do not ‘waist’ time.

  2. Cindy says:

Read the story properly before you talk about WASTING time (your “waist” is the body part around your middle). He attempted to run from the building. He was stopped, allegedly used offensive words and violently resisted arrest.

The story said he “sought to get past security guards.” Clearly, he didn’t get PAST them, so obviously somebody DID their job.

  3. LOL says:

Why run in the first place if you ended up electing to do the time instead of paying the fine. Now you got another charge to face. That was silly. And as for G.E.T. Security, what a joke. They too busy looking out the dam glass doors to see or hear anyone running out of the building. LOL

  4. Hmmm says:

    Bail????

    TONOTTHEFACTS
You are the one who needs a dictionary.
Waist is not the correct word, should be waste.

    • Nothefacts says:

I know how to spell waste. Read what I wrote and notice that the word has quotation marks around it to emphasize that it is spelled wrong. Also Nothefacts is spelled wrong intentionally as it should be Knowthefacts.

The reality is that…well…I think most people would flee court if they in reality could…..it is soooooo expensive to go there…then you have to buy food….electricity….let plp spend our money for sixteen years and put all themselves on an extra pay check as advisors with out clue portfolio…etc…etc…etc…but I digress…not as much as dey did doe!
