Men Deny Drug & Proceeds Of Crime Charges

In Magistrates Court this morning [May 6], two men, aged 31 and 38 respectively, denied drug charges as well as possessing $15,000 that was alleged to be the proceeds of crime.

Marcello Moniz pleaded not guilty to possessing cocaine with intent to supply in May 2013 in Warwick Parish. The amount was alleged to be 6.3 grams.

Both Marcello Moniz and Matice Moniz pleaded not guilty to possessing the controlled drug cannabis in Warwick Parish in May 2013. The amount was alleged to be 0.3 grams.

Both men also pleaded not guilty to knowing that property in their possession, approximately $15,000 in cash, indirectly or directly represented the proceeds of criminal conduct.

The cash was alleged to have been in their possession between an unknown date and May 2013.

The Senior Magistrate set trial for August 2014 and granted each man $15,000 bail, with each required to find a Surety.

    Moniz and Moniz… Sounds like a legal firm!! They are definitely going to need good lawyers for this case!!!

    It will cost them about $15,000 in “legal fees”!!
