Bermuda Summer Soulstice On June 21

June 20, 2014

On the 21st of June at the Pier 6 Complex on Front Street, the Adult Education School in conjunction with the Chewstick Foundation will kick off the summer in style with a fantastic Bermuda Summer Soul-stice fundraising event.

A Chewstick spokesperson said, “Guests will enjoy a “Bermuda-ful” evening of local art, cuisine and entertainment beginning with a Bermuda signature cocktail reception and Paul Smith on steel pan.

“Following the cocktail reception, Bermuda’s very own Town Crier, Mr. Ed Christopher, with the help of the Bermuda Gombeys, will move the party into the main tent where guest will be treated to a casual chic menu of favourite local dishes throughout the night.

“With live entertainment until midnight, there will be ample opportunity to relax to the smooth sounds of Gita Blakeney-Saltus and Shine Hayward, or dance the night away to the reggae band Fire and Ice.

“Throughout the evening, there will be the opportunity for guests to partake in a wonderful silent auction that will showcase works from many local artists and vendors – including oils, pastels, photography, glass-works, jewelry, hotel/golf packages, adventure retreats and many other unique Bermuda ‘Staycation’ items.

“With commitments from up to 45 local artists and vendors who have generously agreed to donate to the silent auction, this will be a first-class ‘All Things Bermuda’ event and celebration.

“The broad range of talent that will be showcased throughout the evening highlights the wealth of artistic and creative talent that exists in this small island and we encourage anyone interested in supporting the continued development of local art, entertainment and tourism opportunities in Bermuda to come to this event!
