Healthy Choice 5K Run & Walk Set For July 6

The Healthy Choice 5K Road Race Run and Walk is set to take place on Sunday, July 6, 2014, with participants setting off from Butterfield & Vallis at 8.15am and 8.30am for walkers and runners, respectively.

Organised by the Mid Atlantic Athletic Club and sanctioned by the Bermuda National Athletics Association [BNAA], the walk will turn left onto Middle Road, then down the hill and left onto Parsons Lane all the way to Palmetto Road. After a left onto Palmetto Road and another left onto Frog Lane, participants will keep left at the roundabout and go up Montepelier Road and left onto Middle Road, before ending with a left into Orange Valley and right into Butterfield & Vallis.

To enter the event, participants must fill out the registration form [PDF here] and pass it in at the Sportseller, along with their fees in the form of cash or cheque [payable to MAAC], or register online. Registration must be completed no later than 6.00pm on Friday, July 4.

Fees for the event are $15 for juniors, $30 for adults, $25 for MAAC members, and $7 for Gold Club members. All fees include a $7 BNAA fee. Late entries, available during number pick-up at Butterfield & Vallis, Orange Valley between 10.00am and 12.00pm on July 5, costs $35. There will be no late entries on the day of the event.

The event will include awards for the first and second male and female runners to finish in age categories including under 18, 18-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60 and older, as well as for the first and second male and female walkers.

Draw prizes will include a Trek Hybrid Pedal Cycle from Winners’ Edge, a Fitbit from AF Smith, and gift vouchers from Sportseller.
