St. George’s Set For 402nd Birthday Celebration

The town of St. George’s is getting set to celebrate its 402nd birthday on Friday, July 11 from 6.00pm to 10.00pm, with an evening of tours, music, reenactments, and film, along with an evening tattoo by the Bermuda Regiment Band at 9.00pm.

Titled “Plough: A Summer’s Evening in the Olde Towne,” the event is supported by the Bermuda Tourism Authority, the Corporation of St. George’s, and St. George’s Business and Heritage Partners.

    This celebration gives us the chance to celebrate the yachtsmen that braved treacherous waters without the modern day equipment that we have today. I’m glad they wrecked and found St. George’s, if not I would not have been here today and been the fine yachtsman that I am today. Happy Birthday St. George’s and many thanks to the yachtsmen that founded St. George’s. I will be celebrating this coming Friday as the representative of BBIRYC.
