24 Yr Old Remanded For Passing Fake $50 Bill

July 21, 2014

Loniko Durrant, 24, was remanded into custody after being convicted of passing a fake $50 bill at the Docksiders Pub on Front Street in the early morning hours of 19th July 2014.

The Crown Prosecutor told Senior Magistrate Archie Warner that a Docksider manager had been given the fake bill by a man who wanted to purchase cigarettes. He checked the bill, noted that it did not feel normal and, on closer examination saw that it had no watermark. The man and Durrant left the bar shortly after.

The Prosecutor continued, telling the Magistrate that Police found and arrested Durrant and his companion on Front Street. At the Police Station, Durrant admitted originally possessing the note and giving it to his companion in an attempt to use it as legitimate currency.

A Court Services representative confirmed that Durrant was wearing a Court ordered electronic monitoring device at the time of the offence, and the Senior Magistrate ordered a Social Inquiry Report, and that Durrant must be held in custody until his sentencing date in mid-August.

This guy hasn’t had enough hard knocks yet. He’s wearing an electronic monitor, out past his curfew and handing out fake notes… He should be ordered to go back to school to pass his hard knocks test.
