28 Year Old Man Denies Threatening His Mother

July 15, 2014

A 28 year old man appeared in Magistrates Court where he faced charges of behaving in a threatening manner towards his own mother.

Darren Anglin pleaded not guilty to stealing jewelry from and behaving in a threatening manner towards his mother, which was alleged to have happened earlier this month.

Mr Anglin told Senior Magistrate Archie Warner that he was guilty of behaving in a threatening manner by banging on the door to his mother’s house, but that he was not guilty of using threatening language to her by telling her, “I’m going to f*** kill you.”

The Senior Magistrate entered a plea of not guilty on both charges, and trial was set for August 2014. Mr Anglin was granted $2,000 bail, and the Magistrate also set the bail conditions that Mr Anglin must stay away from his mother’s residence and from her place of work.
