Photos: Virginia Club Hosts Bermuda Evening
The Country Club of Virginia recently held an event with the theme “Evening in Bermuda”, complete with pastel colour scheme, valets in shorts, a Moongate, replica Bermuda houses, Bermuda shipwreck signs, sea coral accents, Bermudian cuisine and more.
The 58th annual Bal du Bois is a fundraiser for Sheltering Arms Rehabilitation Hospital in Richmond, Virginia and a debutante presentation for girls in their junior year of college.
From the decor to dinner, the event worked to capture the essence of Bermuda, with the article stating, “The club’s culinary team delivered Bermuda’s complex cuisine derived from its English, African and Portuguese heritage on tables adorned to to rival any international fête.”
Upon entering through the foyer, guests said that they were “swept away in the Bermuda current.”
The event was photographed by The Gracious Posse website, and some of their photos are featured below.
The invitations featured the shape of Bermuda:
The valets were wearing shorts and long socks:
There was an old fashioned phone booth waiting to greet guests:
They had a Moongate:
They even had signposts listing the names of Bermuda shipwrecks:
Traditional Bermudian architecture was also highlighted:

Fantastic exposure!
We have to hook those guys up with some proper shorts and shoes next time though
Great post.
Love it.
Really nicely done, minus the valets sneakers lol! Refreshing to see Bermuda represented with class not the cheesy cliche of the triangle, pirates and funny shorts.
