Car Found Unoccupied After Crashing Into Pole

A car smashed into a utility pole on on Middle Road in Southampton early this morning [Aug 25], and the police said it is “unclear at this time if any injuries were sustained” as the car was found unoccupied.

A police spokesperson said, “Around 2:20am on Monday, August 25th police officers were dispatched to a reported single vehicle collision on Middle Road in Southampton in the vicinity of Jews Bay.

“It appears that a car was being driven along Middle Road when a collision occurred with a utility pole. The vehicle received extensive front end damage and was subsequently towed from the scene.

“It is unclear at this time if any injuries were sustained as the car was found unoccupied.

“Inquiries into this collision are ongoing and any witnesses are encouraged to contact PC Ainsworth Grant at the Somerset Police Station on 234-1010.”

    All utility poles and walls in Bermuda need to be given a caution about jaywalking,everyday we read about a pole or wall being involved in some incident that could have been avoided.
    We all know it’s never the fault of the driver in Bermuda.

    What I am curious about is what happens to these people once the police find out whose car it is that has been abandoned. This is becoming a common occurrence but we never seem to hear anything more about the investigation.
