Junior Fishing Tournament Set For Aug 31

August 29, 2014

With a much improved weather forecast for this weekend, the Bermuda Anglers Club has revealed that its Junior Fishing Tournament will be held on Sunday, August 31, 2014.

A spokesperson said, “Competitors will start fishing at 8.30am and the weigh station will be open from 3.00pm to 5.00pm west of the Flagpole on Front Street. With 150 children registered for the event, it promises to be a fun affair for the whole family.

“Each child that comes to the weigh station will receive a free t-shirt. Only one fish can be weighed per child. Please remember that protected species, which include parrot fishes, billfish such as marlin, spearfish, and sailfish, and sharks cannot be brought to the weigh station.

“Fishing is a great way for families to spend time together and the Bermuda Anglers Club is delighted that Cablevision, Butterfield & Vallis, John Barritt & Son, C-Mart, and Flybridge Tackle are supporting this event.”
