Man Charged With Assaulting Female Lawyer

August 29, 2014

In Magistrates Court this morning [Aug 29], Steve Symonds, 59, was remanded into custody until next month after he faced charges relating to an alleged incident with lawyer Ms. Georgia Marshall, on August 28, 2014.

Because the charges were indictable and can only be tried in Supreme Court, Mr. Symonds was not required to enter a plea.

Answering queries put by the Senior Magistrate Archie Warner, Mr. Byrne told the Magistrate that the alleged assault had taken place inside the Sessions House building, just metres away from Justice Wade-Miller who, at the time, was in her chambers.
