BCB Rules: St George’s vs Willow Cuts Game

The Bermuda Cricket Board today [Sept 10] confirmed the ruling of its Cricket Committee that the match between St. George’s and Willow Cuts scheduled at Somerset on Sunday 24 August has been awarded a no result. The Committee had received a letter from St. George’s requesting maximum points from the game.

Nyon Steede, Chairman of the Cricket Committee, noted “The BCB invited submissions from all stakeholders in this matter after receiving the umpire’s report on the match. Both Somerset and Willow Cuts responded. The Committee carefully reviewed the relevant circumstances and decided to declare the match a No Result. This awards 5 points to each team.”

    How is it that a cricketer is serving on this committee? What if it were his team(western stars that were directly involved,wouldnt that be a conflict of interest? Furthermore, in making his decision, he could like his chances of getting promoted by playing Cleveland rather than st georges! We will never know!!!!
