Bermuda Peace Day Road Race On Sunday

The 1st Annual Bermuda Peace Day Road Race will be held on Sunday [Sept 21] with the event beginning and ending at Victoria Park. Race participants will get underway at 9am.

Participants are invited to dress up as their favorite pop, rap, reggae, soul, funk or hip hop artist. There will be prizes for top runners, best costumes and more. Proceeds from the event will be distributed between Big Brothers Big Sisters of Bermuda and Ride The Wave Bermuda.

The judges for the costumes will include Paula Clarke – CEO Gibbons Company, Heather Nova – Singer/Songwriter, Derek Hurdle – Owner of Crossfit Bermuda and Michael Burke – Owner of Greenhouse Bermuda.

The judges will be seated on Front Street on the Freisenbruch Meyer porch as the runners and walkers pass by twice – once heading east and then back again. The judges will then move over to Victoria Park where they can get further viewing of runners and walkers.

Refreshments will be arranged by Barritts and Butterfield & Vallis and there will be entertainment in the park by Big Chill’s DJ Felix Tod. A prize presentation will take place between approximately 10.15am and 10.30am.
