The Bermuda Cricket Board [BCB] announced the Bermuda squad selected to compete in the ICC WCL Division 3 Tournament, October 2014.

Does the word “Ebola” mean anything to the Bermuda Cricket Board and the families of these guys. SMDH

  3. Sherlock says:

Does no cases of Ebola in Uganda mean anything to you…………clearly, “No way”.

I’m guessing no one has seen how the attacks on USA may affect the Bermuda team when they play them? All it takes is a High profile game BDA vs USA and the stadium blows up.

  4. PBanks says:

The tournament has been moved to Malaysia. I guess the ICC were concerned enough, or got enough pressure from mainly the US, to move it. Probably a blow to Uganda cricket but great for Malaysia.

This tournament just got a lot harder for Bermuda, who really can’t afford another season of stagnation. As for relegation, it would be catastrophic.

  5. Family Man says:

Maybe some of the team members don’t want to go to Uganda given that country’s stance on homosexuality.

Here is where Govnt. can save some money and use it where it can be more beneficial to the public on a whole. (If this is in fact costing us)
How often have we seen Bermuda partake in these international games with domestic teams? We are soooooo far in debt we shouldn’t be spending money on events we aren’t able to win at and are only “placing a feather in the hats” of them that are partaking :-(

With that argument, Bermuda should cease funding for any local athlete or team in every sport.

Sorry, kids. Give up your Olympic dream. Give up a chance at exposure which can get you a college scholarship or a look from a professional club.

Don’t get me wrong, the point is taken on limited funding. It’s probably why the men’s national football team hasn’t played an international match in years (despite a good run in the last World Cup qualifying, which drew Bermudians in waves to support them).

Besides, in this case the ICC does most of the funding for these particular tournaments, IIRC.

Research before you speak. This tournament is fully funded by ICC. I know this and I’m not even a cricket fan. Its amazing what a little goggling can do.
