Man Denies Indecent Acts In Hamilton Mall

September 16, 2014

Appearing in Magistrates Court this morning [Sept 16], a 26-year-old man denied five charges alleging indecent acts in public.

The charges alleged that on 8th September 2014, in the Washington Mall in Hamilton, he committed an indecent act in public and did so in front of a child; and that he intruded on the privacy of a female.

The defendant was faced similar charges which were alleged to have occurred at the same location the following day.

After hearing the Crown’s objection to bail and the defence lawyer’s arguments for bail, Magistrate Juan Wolffe granted bail with conditions including the defendant take his prescribed medications as prescribed by staff at MAWI, he stay away from the Washington Mall, he abides by a curfew, and that he not be away from his residence unless he is in the presence of his parents, or a responsible adult they designated.

The Magistrate set 30th September as the next date on which the defendant must re-appear in Court.
