Motorcyclist Injured In Single Vehicle Collision

[Updated] At approximately 9.46pm on Thursday night [Sept 11], emergency services responded to a single vehicle accident on Somerset Road in Sandy’s where one person was injured and taken to hospital.

The Bermuda Fire and Rescue Service attended the scene and spokesperson, Sergeant Russann Francis, said “The vehicle was reported to have crashed into the sidewalk. The Fire Service responded to the incident with one vehicle and four personnel.

“The injured person was assessed and treated by Fire Service personnel before being transferred to KEMH via ambulance.”

Update Sept. 12: A police spokesperson said, ” Around 9:50pm on Thursday, September 11th first responders were dispatched to a reported single vehicle motorcycle collision at the junction of Middle Road and Woodlawn Road in Sandys parish.

“Details regarding this incident are unclear; however the injured motorcyclist, a 39 year old Pembroke man, was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment. His injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

‘Inquiries into this collision are ongoing and any witnesses are encouraged to contact the Somerset Police Station on telephone number 234-1010.”
