Weather Related Power Outage In East End

[Updated: Power restored] BELCO crews are out working to restore power after approximately 895 customers in the east end lost power at around 2.30pm today [Sept 18] after a heavy squall went through the area. BELCO dispatched crews immediately, and said they will provide an update as able.

The Bermuda Weather Service issued a Thunderstorm Advisory valid through today through tonight, and their forecast said, “A complex low passing to the near west will increase shower and thunderstorm activity as well as bring periods of rain through tonight.”

Update: Power was restored in approximately 1 hour, with restoration complete at 3:27pm.
