Argo Group Names Nigel Mortimer EVP
Bermuda-based Argo Group International Holdings, Ltd., an international underwriter of specialty insurance and reinsurance products, announced that, subject to Bermuda Immigration approval, Nigel Mortimer will take on the newly created role of Executive Vice President, Strategy and Business Development. Mr. Mortimer joined Argo in January 2009 and has been responsible for establishing its insurance operations in Bermuda, Brazil, Dubai and Continental Europe as well as leading the group’s product development initiatives.

He’s ideally suited for taking on this new role aimed at creating genuinely new opportunities for Argo while ensuring the effective execution of our chosen strategy.”
In addition to this new appointment, Mr. Mortimer will continue to lead Argo’s insurance operations in Bermuda. Prior to joining Argo, Mr. Mortimer served as Head of Product Development for XL Insurance. He has also run underwriting operations for both XL and Zurich insurance in Bermuda, London and Australia.
