Football: Premier, First & Corona Results

Footballers in the Premier Division, First Division and Corona League all saw action this past weekend.

Premier Division

Robin Hood 1 Devonshire Cougars 0

After a scoreless first half at the BAA Field, Jaylon Bather’s curling right footed free kick from the edge of the box beat the outstretched hand of the Devonshire Cougars goalkeeper Kioshi Trott giving Robin Hood a 1 – 0 lead.

In the first half Devonshire Cougars came close to taking the lead, Domico Coddington was brought down in the box, but Moses Steede watched his right footed shot go wide.

Both teams struggled to create chances in the first half as the half came to a close following a foul by Corey Boyce on Trott.

Neither team would find the net again as Robin Hood came away with a 1 – 0 victory.

North Village Rams 2 PHC Zebras 2

At the Bernard Park, the North Village Rams found themselves 2 – 0 up at the halftime break with goals from Keishen Bean and Thomas Watson, but the PHC Zebras got second half goals from Na’eem Griffith and Shakir Smith as the two teams played to a 2 – 2 draw.

Southampton Rangers 0 St. George’s Colts 2

At the Southampton Oval the visiting St. George’s Colts got a first half goal from Dominique Lambert and a second half strike from Macai Simmons as they defeated the Southampton Rangers 2 – 0.

Hamilton Parish 3 Flanagan’s Onions 2

A see-saw battle took place at the Wellington Oval, where Hamilton Parish emerged victorious 3 – 2. Hamilton Parish got goals from Shayne Hollis, Donovan Thompson and Ijahmon Mallory, while Keston Lewis scored twice for the Flanagan’s Onions from the penalty spot.

Dandy Town Hornets 2 Somerset Trojans 3

At the St. John’s Field, the Somerset Trojans were looking to avenge their Charity Cup loss to the Dandy Town Hornets and they did just that coming away with a 3 – 2 victory. The Somerset Trojans got 3 goals from Malachi Jones and a single strike from Leo Burgess, while the Dandy Town Hornets got goals from Fabian Frankson and Seion Darrell.

First Division

X-Roads 5 Somerset Eagles 2

At the Garrison Field, Tristan Daniels scored twice to lead X-Roads to a 5 – 2 victory over the Somerset Eagles, Tymon Daniels, Jamin Furbert and Kyhon Smith all added a goal each for X-Roads, while Kanhai Fray and Darin Dowling scored for Somerset Eagles.

Young Men Social Club 0 Wolves 3

After a scoreless first half at the Bernard Park, Daz Simons gave visiting Wolves the lead in the 65th minute, Lamelle Paynter doubled the visitors lead in the 86th minute and then Steven Bremar made it 3 – 0 in the 88th minute as Wolves defeated the Young Men Social Club 3 – 0.

Paget Lions 0 Boulevard Blazers 3

At the Southampton Oval, League Leaders Boulevard Blazers get a hat-trick from Tiavince Douglas as they defeated the Paget Lions 3 – 0.

Ireland Rangers 2 St. David’s 5

At Malabar, Allan Douglas scored four times to lead St. David’s to a 5 – 2 victory over Ireland Rangers. Jamal Woodley added the other goal for St. David’s, Henry Santucci scored twice for Ireland Rangers.

Devonshire Colts 4 BAA 2

At the Police Field, Kyle Jones scored twice to lead the Devonshire Colts to a 4 – 2 victory over BAA, Lozendro Symonds and Vernell Lambe added the other, while Dante Leverock and Josh Hardtman scored for BAA.

Corona League

Flanagan’s Onions 4 BAA 1

The opening match of the day saw Flanagan’s Onion’s get 2 goals from Keith Smierek, to go along with single strikes from Andrew Forster and Stewart Foster in their 4 – 1 win over BAA. Dean Jones scored the lone goal for BAA.

Tuff Dogs 2 B&V United 0

Butterfield and Vallis United’s start to the Corona League did not start the way they would have liked as they went down 2 – 0 to the defending League Champions Tuff Dogs. Ryan Minors and Aaron Brown scored a goal each for Tuff Dogs.

Lock and Key 2 Vasco 0

The final Corona League game of the day saw Lock and Key get a single goal from Dion Stovell and Marvin Belboda in their 2 – 0 win over Vasco.
