Motorcyclist Injured In Collision With Truck

[Updated] A man was injured and taken to hospital this afternoon [Oct 8] following a collision at the junction of Crow Lane and Lane Hill involving a truck and a motorcycle.

A police spokesperson said, “Around 1.45pm on Wednesday, October 8, first responders were dispatched to a reported serious two vehicle collision at the junction of Crow Lane and Lane Hill in Pembroke involving a truck and a motorcycle.”

“The injured male motorcyclist was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment. The extent of his injuries is unknown at this time. An update on his condition will be provided when further details are available.

“Traffic was diverted away from the area while collision investigators examined the scene.

“Inquiries regarding this collision are ongoing and any witnesses are encouraged to contact PC Courtney Downie or PC Avasonjia Hewitt at the Hamilton Police Station on telephone number 247-1704.”

Update Oct 9, 12.38pm: A police spokesperson said, “At last check the 56 year old Devonshire man injured around 1:45pm Wednesday, October 8th when the motorcycle he was riding collided with a truck at the junction of Crow Lane and Lane Hill in Pembroke was recovering on a general ward at the hospital.

“The witness appeal continues and anyone who may have seen this collision is encouraged to contact PC Courtney Downie or PC Avasonjia Hewitt at the Hamilton Police Station on telephone number 247-1704.”
